Look at the your Situation

I often receive the comments about how hijrah is not necessary and that I could very easily and freely practice my religion in my country of origin. But if we really take a look at our situations, how much of our religion are we really freely practicing anywhere and moreso in non-Muslim countries.

A simple example is the Adhan - call to prayer. It is fardh kifaya. So that means if one person does it, then the rest of us are exempt from it, but if no one does it we all get a sin from it. I don't know many non-Muslim countries that allow adhan. So what about family law, inheritance and Islamic governance in any way shape or form?

Yes I agree that the Muslim countries are fairly messed up after years of puppet dictators but there is hope and there are the basics freely practices and one is not harrassed in the street for wearing hijab or a thawb.

I see the news coming out of England lately showing very anti-Islamic scenes with this group called the EDL - England Defence League - an extremist group very opposed to Muslims and Islam in their country. I would not really want to live amongst such people.

While living in these countries one is constantly bombarded with haram, from disco music in the shopping centre to soft porn advertising in the streets and actual physical assault from Islamaphobes. If you live in one of these countries and don't experience any of these things you must be living in a bubble.

To add to this, our children are taught in schools that being gay is fine, that relationships before marriage is also ok but use protection, then the versions of history that are administered further attack the Islamic personality we want in our children.

Take a look at your situation, is it really what is could be? Have you means to travel  and a destination? Start planning now!
