Hijrah to the United Arab Emirates

I read a humorous travel guide that called UAE the Unaudited Arab Emirates - It a place for the oligarks of the world – at least in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

The cities are where the work is and the Islam is not. It is a country inhabited by what looks like non-Muslims. A muhajir for Allah will feel like a freak in the big cities of UAE – so what about the countryside. Allahu Alam. For a quieter more conservative environment try Fujaira on the other side of the country where there is not a great deal of oil wealth.

But if you must live in a city the best spot is Sharjah – alcohol is (supposedly) banned and there are Islamic institutions and publishing houses. After Sharjah, Abu Dhabi will suffice. Dubai is a no go – moot point. If you truly made Hijra for Allah’s Sake, don’t ruin yourself by living in Dubai.

UAE is recommended for stopover, cash flow solution but not as an experience in an Arab country – you won’t even realise you are in one.

Enjoy the heat!
