Hijrah is not Meant to be Easy

I decided to open up the old blog today just to see if there was still any activity going on and to my surprise there were 32 page views just today, which was a huge spike in activity in an empty blogging year. What was most interesting about this sudden spike in page views was that I contacted the some embassies in the past few days. Coincidence? I started this blog years ago to encourage Muslims to make the step towards hijrah for the sake of Allah. ALhamdulillah I am still a Muhajirah although it has been a very difficult journey, but I love a bit of adventure. Yemen has dropped of as a place for Muhajireen (particularly westerners) for obvious reasons - the new security issues, no visas at the airport, and the difficulty of getting a visa in any situation. The economy has imploded and the opportunities here for anyone are very limited. Sometimes it is easy to feel like giving up and "going home". For those of you muhajireen out there feeling this way, ask yourself carefully...is life really better there? Renew your niyah, find other muhajireen for social support and remember Allah more than often, remember Allah as often as you take breath. Duniya is short, and the rewards of hijrah may get you over the line on Qiyama. The aim in Jannah!
